Leaving the post of Secretary General of the MpD.
After a deep process of reflection, I have decided to place the position of Secretary General of the MpD at the disposal of the President.
This decision was made based on the firm conviction that it is essential to allow the party the freedom to choose a new leadership for the general secretariat. I believe that in this new political context it is the right time for new energy, a new vision and elements that I may not have I managed to contribute, be brought to this very important role.
I did my best during the two years and four months that I was Secretary General, a period that was one of great learning and personal, political and professional growth.
Today, I feel that a cycle is coming to an end, and with it I take away gratitude for all the experiences I have had and for the extraordinary people with whom I have had the privilege of collaborating.
From now on, my focus will be on Parliament and the topics that have always been my passion: Economy, Finance and, of course, my city of Praia.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the municipal coordinators, the team at headquarters and everyone who worked alongside me throughout this journey. Together, we have created remarkable moments and have always worked with the best interests of the MpD and Cape Verde at heart.
I will continue to serve our party and our country with the same commitment as always, now with a new focus and new challenges ahead.
